JAMMU, Apr 17: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Sunday condemned the violence during the Hanuman Jayanti procession in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri locality and sought thorough investigation terming the incident as a ploy to disrupt peace.
In a statement issued to media persons, the former deputy Chief Minister said that Saturday’s violence in Delhi and similar incidents in other parts of the country speak of a deep rooted conspiracy to disturb the peaceful atmosphere in the country and the government should take strict steps to foil the designs of those behind this dangerous ploy.
He said that the incident is extremely condemnable and appealed to all for maintaining peace.
Meanwhile, Kavinder Gupta today reviewed preparations for the upcoming rally of PM Narendra Modi on April 24 at Samba’s Palli Village.
In this connection, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Vinay Gupta, District President BJP Jammu at Party Headquarters in Jammu.
Kavinder said that people of J&K are energized over the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit and are eager to be a part of the rally. He said that over 10,000 people from Jammu city are expected to participate in the aforesaid rally.
The senior BJP leader anticipated that PM Modi’s visit will rejuvenate BJP cadre in the UT and also exuberate the electorate to show inclination towards the party and its leadership.
He said that PM Modi’s visit will surely be going to exhilarate the party workers and will strengthen the party in the UT of J&K.
Ankush Gupta Gen Secy, Neeraj Lucky Puri Mandal President, Corporators of Gandhi Nagar and Office bearers of Gandhi Nagar Mandal also attended the meeting.
