Jammu, Apr 28: Senior BJP leader and former minister Sukhnandan Chaudary on Thursday said that Jammu is not getting its due share of power from Ranjit Sagar Dam in Punjab. Talking to a local news channel Sukhnanadan said that Punjab and J&K Government had signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2018 that J&K will get 20% share from the electricity generated from Ranjit Sagar Dam. “Even the rate was fixed at Rs.3.50 per unit. But these days we are being tol ‘It seems LG Sinha unaware about MoU signed between Punjab and J&K Govts’ that the J&K is purchasing electricity at Rs. 9 to 15 per unit.” He said, “At this time also 300 Megawatt electricity is generated at Ranjit Sagar Dam according to MoU J&K should get 20% share i.e. 60 Megawatts. But it’s unfortunate that we are not getting our share.” “It seems LG Sahib is not aware about J&K signing MoU with Punjab Government. He should pay some attention towards it,” he added. My simple question is that “Why Punjab is eating our share? Why we are not getting it.” |
