Jammu’s power pangs dominate BJP’s core group meeting
Party blames UT administration for prevailing chaos
5/1/2022 11:36:06 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, May 1: Amid brewing anger among all sections of the society due to unprecedented power curtailment and non-availability of drinking water, the meeting of the core group of BJP thoroughly discussed this issue on Saturday. The party leadership cautioned that prevailing chaos would be proved counter-productive for the party in the next assembly elections.
Highly placed sources said that the core group meeting was called to discuss the just concluded rally of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Palli but the scarcity of Bijli-Pandi in Jammu province, in particular, dominated the discussion.
“Majority of the core group were of the view that Jammu province is facing unprecedented worst-ever water and power crises”, sources said and revealed that party leaders blamed the UT administration for the present situation. Sources said that some leaders pointed out that Babus of the UT administration are least concerned about the compounding woes of the masses due to power curtailment and the non-availability of drinking water in summer.
“BJP leaders warned people are blaming the party for the prevailing mess in J&K but the reality is entirely different because those at the helm of the affairs always ignore issues raised by the local leadership”, sources said.
On the condition of anonymity, a core group member told the Early Times that the situation is going from bad to worse due to the misdemeanours of the Babus but party leaders are facing the wrath of the people on the ground.
“At the end of the day, it will be BJP leaders who will face the anger of the people due to prevailing anarchy in the assembly elections”, the leader said and pointed out that Babus are not going to face people in elections.
Meanwhile, buoyed by the massive turnout in the rally, BJP has decided to organize various programmes in the days to come to continue the tempo. The party will launch a mass contact programme, across the UT, from next month and the party will also take up the issues concerning the common masses to counter opposition propaganda.
