"Jungle raaj and nepotism in the department has 'ruined' sanctity of codification of uniform. Several junior most officials, have been elevated to the rank of Conservator in the department, while adhoc syndromethat had paved way for junior most Foresters to hold charge of Ranger has further degraded the department", sources said. They said that disrespect of codification of uniform is being done too under the nose of minister concerned. "Since the dayChoudhary Lal Singh took charge of department, he chaired several meeting of officials, and the 'fake' Rangers who are not entitled to wear the uniform of Rangers, have attended these meetings in their uniforms", sources said. They said that earlierin April, when Mehbooba Mufti took over as Chief Minister, it was widely expected that things will change in the Forest department, but unfortunately, things remainunchanged. "In Forest department, Deputy Foresters are wearing two stars, while Foresters, who Incharge range Officers, are wearing three stars and blue beret caps", they said, and added that according to rules grade-I officers, who have got PSC clearance are entitled to wear this rank. "But it has been become a routine matter that the temporarily placed foresters, some of them work here in office of DFO, Conservators and Chief Conservator of Forest too wear the uniform", sources said, and added that the top boss, who is also custodian of the department, is promoting 'self' promotion system in the department. |
