J&K NCP demands dismissal of Ch Lal Singh, Syed Basharat Bukhari from cabinet | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 23: Expressing serious concerns over the alleged rampant corruption by influential inclyding cabinet ministers, Former minister Thakur Randhir Singh State president Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today has demanded dismissal of Ch Lal Singh and Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari from cabinet for their alleged support to the corrupt elements and giving undue favour to their kin. According to NCP state spokesperson, a delegation comprising the people of Danna village from District Kathua led by Jaswant Singh Jamwal General Secretary J& K state NCP and Chairman NCP RTI cell met Former minister Thakur Randhir Singh NCP President J&K state in reference to a news item in reference to a news item appeared in certain media section " Agriculture Land at village Danna near Lakhanpur allowed for Industrial purpose' in which High court Jammu and Kashmir keeps in abeyance Revenue Department order favouring Forest minister's son. After listening to the delegation, the Thakur Randhir Singh state president NCP said in the first instance the whole thing clearly shows criminal connivance of both the ministers Ch Lal Singh Forest Minister and Revenue Minister Syed Basharat Bukhari who have taken oath of office to serve the people and work towards the welfare of the state. "Land use of the agricultural land has been changed to be used for industrial purpose by throwing all rules and norms to the winds only to please and facilitate the Forest Minister Ch Lal Singh and his son Divya Suraj Pratap Singh, he said while questioning the accountability of the two ministers. NCP President Singh further said that a Govt order "is issued after it is approved by the minister concerned and for doing so a note is initiated from the record keeper and routed through various , office superintendent before it reaches the Under secretary, Dy Secy, Addl Secy, Spl Secy and finally the Secy to govt who puts it up to the minister concerned for its approval". Singh said the land in question is agricultural land and the minister's son is setting up a biggest stone crusher there which is very close to inhabitation thereby endangering the lives of many hapless villagers at risk of many pulmonary diseases. "Quite possible the Pollution Control Board, which is directly under the supervision of the forest minister, may have accorded its approval to the project to the minister's son, Singh said. Expressing concerns over industrial units of cement and dozens of brick kilns being set up in and around the Kathua, the J&K NCP Chief said, "They have already taken up this matter with successive Deputy Commissioners' but all is in vain." He said as the brick kiln mafia ,land mafia and stone crushers mafias have taken over the revenue, forest officials in District Kathua . Singh regretted it is very sad to note that these so called representatives of the people are only working for their own selves and drawing huge salaries from the state exchequer along with numerous privileges and other perks paid by the common people as taxpayers and still leaving the common masses in lurch. Referring to the court direction, NCP chief said that High court of J&K has kept the order in abeyance till the next date besides issuing notices to both the ministers , the Revenue secy , besides the DC, SP and Tehsildar Kathua in whose jurisdiction the land in question falls. Meanwhile NCP State leader Jaswant Singh Jamwal said that it is pertinent to mention here that Ch Lal Singh is the same person who has grabbed hundreds of acres of govt as well as private land using his influence near Raj Bagh on the banks of river Ujh and converted it in a big farm. |
