CME cum Patient Awareness programme organized

Jammu, Sept 23: J&K Hemophilia Society, Jammu chapter organized CME cum Patient Awareness Program about the Hemophilia is the oldest known uncommon genetic bleeding disorder that disrupts the blood clotting process.
On the occasion founder of the Society Jagdish Sharma welcomed all dignitaries from Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital Jammu and patients and their attendants. He also highlighted few major problems are being faced by patients especially from far flung areas. He appealed Managing Director (MD) of Jammu and Kashmir Supplies Corporation to procure factor 7, 9, 10 and VWD factors as soon as possible due to unavailability of these factors, patients are running from pillar to post for these factors.
He further appealed to supplies medicines to those centre which are identified by JKMSC viz Kathu, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda and others so that the needy patients have to travel less.
Assuring parents about the quality of procured factors, MD of JKMSC Dr Yashpal Sharma said that the Corporation has procured the factors from a company on lowest after getting testing reports from National Institute of Biologicals (NIB) of Government of India, which is biggest testing lab in the country, and the corporation has never compromised the quality of drugs.
"Following the guidelines of World Federation of Hemophilia and World Health Organization, the factors were procured by the JKMSC and the simples were also sent to others labs for testing, "he said and adding that after receiving reports from all labs Corporation has found the factors upto quality.
During programme, patients and parents also asked some questions to dignities about the factors as well as problems are being faced by them, the dignities assured all needy and necessaries step are being taken by the concern authority.
HOD Medicine Dr Anil Mahajan, Expert from Mumbai Dr Santosh Nair, Associate Prof. Dr. Sanjeev K Digra, Lecturer Dr. Shazia Hamid, Lecturer Dr JB Singh, Dr Vishal Tandon and GM JKMSC Dr. Rajindra Kumar Khajuria also briefed to patients and their attendants during the programme.
