Vigilance probe ordered against CCBL chairman | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 26: In a significant development, the State Government has asked the Vigilance Organization to conduct an in-depth inquiry into allegations of malfunctioning and mismanagement of public money by Dinesh Gupta during his two consecutive terms as Chairman of the Citizens Cooperative Bank Ltd Jammu.
A formal order in this regard has been issued by the Department of Cooperative, J&K Government, with the urgent request for Vigilance inquiry against Dinesh Gupta during his tenures from 2007-2010 and 2012 till date.
The Cooperative Department has also forwarded copies of letter No. RCS/B&F/CCB-21/1031 dated 26-2-2016 and letter No RCS/B&F/CCB-III-Insp-06/1088, dated 16-3-2016 along with its enclosures from Registrar Cooperative Societies J&K, Jammu regarding the direction for Vigilance inquiry.

Jammu, Apr 26: The cornered BJP Government on Tuesday said in the Lok Sabha that deployment of CRPF personnel at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Srinagar, would not result in alienation of Kashmiri youth.
"Deployment of central forces was not a suo motto decision of the central government. It was done only after the (non-local) students and the NIT administration made a demand (in this regard). Jammu, Apr 26: Contrary to the claims of keeping crime against women under check in J&K, the Crime Report recently released by Police department has revealed that J&K registered more cases of crime against women than the national average.
The official statistics reveal that Jammu and Kashmir registered 57 cases per one lakh women population, which is much higher than the all India rate- 56.3.
The figures are also indicative of the inability of the J&K Police to keep crime against women under check.
