Amid gala preparations for LS polls | No arrangement for partially blind, differently abled citizens | | K Koushal Jammu, Apr 10: With minor reports of lawlessness, election authorities were seen in hurry as there were poor arrangements for the differently abled citizens especially blind ones. As per sources, in most of the polling stations of Jammu particularly far-flung areas, there was no arrangement for lightening owing to which the partially blind voters were finding it difficult to get the button on the EVM meant for voting. A patient suffering from similar disorders namely Jagannath after coming out of polling booth expressed his resentment with helpers saying, "It seems as if I have wasted my vote to inappropriate candidate due to poor lightening arrangements and despite after repeated requests made to the election authorities, no one heard to my words". In a similar reply, Pola Ram, a voter in Akhnoor area said that cataract during his late seventies has made him poor to see objects with normal capacity and hence, he was expecting some special arrangements during the voting but after he reached polling booth, he found everything against his expectations at the polling booth. Further for the lame voters, there was no arrangement of sitting, rued another voter.
