Cop detains victim illegally for 3 days, Court directs DySP for probe | Molestation, thrashing of woman by AFCONS officers | | Sumit Sharma ET Report JAMMU, Nov 12: Munsiff Court, Gool ordered SDPO Gool to hold inquiry and report accordingly after a complaint was lodged with it against AFCONS officers namely Parshotam Patel Chief Engineer and Roop Singh, tehsildar Gool Bashir-ul-Hussain and IC/PP Sungaldan SI Parvez Ahmed Khanday to put pressure on the woman to withdraw complaint she lodged against AFCONS employees for molesting and thrashing her. The court ordered inquiry after the lady namely Shamshada Begum w/o Ghulam Rasool of Mavlakote, lodged complaint with the court alleging therein that they were forcing her to withdraw her complaint lodged against some AFCONS employees regarding her molestation. She said that Sub Inspector Parvez detained her and her husband illegally for three days on behest of the accused persons and Tehsildar Gool threatened her to eliminate her family if she did not withdraw her complaint. Sensing the allegations serious in nature, the court directed SDPO Gool to hold inquiry u/s 202 CrPC into the allegations leveled by complainant. The woman lodged complaint when six persons identified as Purshotam Patel, General Manager AFCONS, Parkash Supervisor CPE department, Shiv Kumar P&A 2, Roop Singh P&A 1, Milind Palsul Manager Accounts and Bhupendra Rawal Manager Crusher Plant Sungaldan, Ramban reached at the piece of land of the complainant and after verbal brawl, allegedly thrashed and molested her. As per complainant, the AFCONS company took land measuring 8 kanal and 2 marlas situated in Mavalkote in tehsil Gool, district Ramban on lease for three years i.e from 2012 to 2015 with the condition that no heavy machinery would be installed ,but violating agreement, the company installed stone crusher near village against the norms and act of Pollution Control Board. Worthwhile to mention here that AFCONS Company is building tunnel for railway track from Ramban to Qazigund and it took land on lease for the same purpose. The woman raised objection when the AFCONS company terminated the agreement without prior notice to the owner of the land and stopped paying monthly fixed charges i.e Rs 500 per kanal. Following her objections, the AFCONS officers reached at the site and entered into verbal brawl between the woman and later she was allegedly molested. |
