| Rape is the fourth most common crime in India. Ninety-two women were
raped on an average every day in India and the national capital with 1,636
cases recorded the highest number of such crimes among all cities last year.
According to figures released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the total number of rape cases reported in India has gone up to 33,707 in 2013 from 24,923 in 2012. In 15,556 cases, the rape victims were aged between 18 and 30 years in 2013. The number of rape cases has doubled in Delhi in 2013 compared to the previous year. A total of 1,636 rape cases were reported in the city last year, while 706 such cases were reported in the year 2012. On an average, four rape cases were reported in Delhi everyday in 2013.
The number of rape cases in Delhi was followed by 391 cases in Mumbai, 192 cases in Jaipur and 171 cases in Pune in 2013.
Several rape cases in India received widespread media attention and triggered protests since 2012. This led the Government of India to reform its penal code for crimes of rape and.Rape is spreading world wide and it is becoming difficult for females to travell alone in cabs.Inspite of lot of measures rape rate is increasing day by day.Keeping in view the remedy and solution of this menace I have tried to come up with a safety plan.SAFETY PLAN; Basically every registered cab may be fixed with a cam and may be connected to a main server connected to a satellite link.The server may also be connected to main server of police control room of metro,which in turn will be connected to systems of smaller police stations. An alternate phone number of the traveling passenger may get alaram automatically if some thing goes wrong during traveling..
After booking a registered cab,it must be mandatory for Drivers to hand over a remote to the passenger so that he /she can switch on the system so that all the activities in the cab will be seen and recorded live to all the connected systems.This will also check the speed limits,routes,and legal use of meter by the cab drivers.The provision of remote is that some times couples dont want to get live due to privacy reasons.So single passengers will not be victimized by this plan and the menace of rape will be completely irredicated.The out line of this safety plan is attached above.This plan can make our travelling safer but actual safety lies in the neural setup of citizens which needs behavioral safety, where morality, religious tabooism,rich cultural traits, social ridicule, mores, folk ways and human values out play ones instincts. Work shops and general awareness among the masses can also play a big role to curb this menace completely.
