Vishvasthali celebrates Swami Vivekananda’s B’ anniversary

Jammu, Jan 12: Vishvasthali ' a non-governmental art and cultural organization celebrated the 152nd birth anniversary of the great young saint of mother India Swami VivekaNand in the premises of the PWD rest house Basohli.
Here it needs to mention that Dr Shakti Pathak Secretary in PMO office is the founder and guiding spirit behind the Vishavsthali the NGO working to preserve, disseminate and develop the cultural heritage of the old historical town of Basohli. The celebrations started by igniting the lamp by the special invitee by Vijay Sharma Tehsildar Basohli and three sessions of daylong celebrations were presided over by tehsildar Basohli Vijay Sharma, Devender Verma from Styam Cements Kathua and Principal JNV Basohli respectively. On the spot painting, debate competition and the folk song contests were held as a part of the celebrations in which large number of students from different schools participated and different panel of judges adjudged the performance of the participants.
Arvinder Singh and Harvinder Singh both students of Manu Shiksha Kendera Hr Sec. School Raj Bagh bagged first positions in debate contest, Amuk Sharma Army Public School Udhampur bagged first prize in painting contest and Mridul Magotra in music event. The above mentioned three chair persons of the different sessions highlighted the main events of Swami Vivekananda's life and exhorted the youths to follow the teachings of the great saint letter and spirit. It was emphasized by each and every speaker that the only way to come out of the troubles of the time and also to build up the character which is the main assets of the mankind. Thereafter during folk music session gazals were sung by Neeraj Sharma who enthralled the audience. The prizes were given away to the winners by Dr Shakti Pathak and the Chief guest DevinderVerma Satyam Cement Kathua jointly. Meanwhile celebration continued till the last report poured in from Basholi.
