Jammu, Jan 12: Jammu Development Authority (JDA) Jammu today appreciated supportive role by three SHOs in proactively assisting the nodal authority in its drive against the illegal encroachers/violators of BOCA, which ultimately led to the retrieval of hundreds of kanals of JDA land. According to official spokesperson, the Vice-Chairperson, JDA, Sushma Chauhan personally handed over the Citations of Appreciation to the three officers namely Station House Officer (SHO), Bari Brahmana, Inspector Shiv Dev Singh; current Chowki Officer, Poney Chak, SI Vikram Manhas and then Chowki Officer, Poney Chak, SI Shamim Ahmed in a simple function held at JDA Office. Speaking on the occasion, the VC JDA admitted that the task before JDA still is difficult as massive encroachments existed on JDA lands. "Therefore, without positive role of the Police, it was impossible to get these lands back, she said while lauding the roles played by the above officers in coming forward without any fear or favour to support the Authority in its mandate of developing Jammu as per the Master Plan. The VC further added that the Hon'ble High Court has recently ordered a time-bound demarcation of JDA land, which will further require a more than proactive support of the Police Department. The other officers of JDA including the Director Land Management, Secretary JDA, Chief Town Planner and others were present on the occasion. |
