| Darakhshan appeals Governor for rehabilitation of flood, border-firing affected people | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 12: Bhartiya Janta Party leader Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has requested the Governor to take up the process of relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims of Kashmir and the displaced people from Border areas due to the Border shelling as the priority of his rule.
According to press release, Dr Darakhshan said that thousands of people in Kashmir have been put into misery by the floods and in absence of the government from September 7 itself in the state.
"The people have gone through very tough times and are still struggling for life and waiting for anybody to come to their help.
But now with the worthy Governor taking over the state, the hopes have risen among the badly hit people in distress", she said and added, "The coalition government led by Omar Abdullah only played statement-game with the distressed people and misused the relief money for reconstruction purposes only to get commissions out of it.
Thus he cheated with the people who were desperate to get some relief out of the funds released to the state government by the centre. Now the real time for deliverance has come." She further sought Governor's immediate attention towards the border-firing hit people of Jammu division who in the chilling cold are passing through very tough times away from homes in temporary camps.
Dr Darakhshan said these people are suffering because of none of their faults and it was our duty to attend to them and provide them every possible help as relief and rehabilitate them properly so that they don't suffer much. Dr Darakhshan said that she was hopeful that the popular government respecting the mandate of the people will be formed soon to address to the people's agonies. |
