Health Education Bureau organizes programme on 'Save the Girl Child' 1/27/2015 11:44:40 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 27: Health Education Bureau, Directorate of Health Services Jammu today organized an awareness programme on "Save the Girl Child" in AMT School Gandhi Nagar. Besides students staff of the AMT School also attended the programme. Dr. Preetam Katoch, Asstt. Director, Health Education Bureau while speaking on the occasion said that conducting of such awareness programmes are to sensitize people about the issue of declining sex ratio. He said Health Education Bureau has started a campaign for holding such awareness programmes on the issue of declining of sex ratio. He also shed light on the newly launched campaign "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao". Nidhi Gandotra, Incharge Audio Visual Officer, Health Education Bureau made the students aware of the consequences of the female foeticide through a documentary and stressed for curbing this menace. Dr. Swati Sharma while speaking on the occasion said that educating and empowering women is imperative to stop the practice of female foeticide.
