Turn coat Lal Singh lambasts security agencies, Cong leaders | R-day function turns into BJP political rally | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 27: A function organized at Higher Secondary School Hatli here, to commemorate Republic Day turned into a political rally of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader and MLA Basholi Choudhary Lal Singh, who launched a scathing attack at Congress stalwarts and the security agencies. Taking a dig at security agencies "turncoat" Lal Singh claimed that the security nakas were established only to collect money from commoners rather than to provide security. "Is there any bomb being exploded?. Earlier security naka was at Jatwal now at Ghagwal. These nakas are only meant for collecting money", Singh said, while addressing gathering of villagers and school children at Higher Secondary School Hatli. Eulogizing his tenure as Health Minister in the Congress-Peoples Democratic Party coalition government, Singh claimed that being a Health Minister he had rectified many things. Without naming former union minister and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, Singh said, " I stood up against corrupt ministers and leaders. All big names have disappeared and I won due to the support of masses." Analysts dismissed Singh's speech as mere rhetoric, talking to Early Times they said, "Singh and his wife Kanta Choudhary have represented Basohli constituency for more than 12 years but they have failed to construct bridges, roads and hospitals in the area. After 66 years of independence, we have no metalled roads in Hatli area besides none of the rivulet in Hatli area has bridge over it." They added that even the link road connecting Hatli with Basohli is in shambles. Hatli has one Primary Health Center with negligible facilities. "One needs to ask Lal Singh which achievements he is talking about," analysts said. |
