Under anti encroachment drive JMC retrieves Govt land worth crores | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 29: Continuing its drive against encroachers, the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today retrieve four kanals of land from encroachers at Janipur valuing almost Rs 10 crores. "The land whose type is pond but has been filled up by mud/earth soil was being slowly taken over by encroachers, the official spokesperson said. He said that the Enforcement team of JMC under the directions of Er Kiran Wattal, Commissioner JMC with the assistance of Police authorities conducted the drive. "The area is being proposed to be developed as Matador (Mini Bus) Stand for 57 numbers of Vehicles, Community toilet blocks, Passenger shed with allied facilities, he said adding," foundation works is in progress and the rest structure shall be raised in shortest possible time." It is mentioned here that already Corporation has removed Khokhas at Hari Market, which were raised on land worth crores and lately developed "Vatika" a passenger shed for convenience of tourists and general public as well. Earlier also land with value of more than 12 crores were retrieved from illegal possession at Satwari near MILKFED. Commissioner JMC has instructed that similar drives be continued to get the other piece of land vacated and warned in further no encroachment shall be allowed in the state land. |
