MLA Rafiabad for appropriate measures for flood protection 1/29/2015 11:24:49 PM Jammu, Jan 29 : Urging the need for expeditious implementation of the proposed Rs 2000 cr. Comprehensive Plan for Flood Management (CPFM)in Jammu and Kashmir, the MLA, Rafiabad, Yawar Dilawar Mir has called for undertaking dredging of River Jehlum and existing flood spill Channel before the onset of fast nearing rainy season in Kashmir to address the problem of floods. He has also stressed the need for dredging of Out-fall Flood Channel( OFC) River Jehlum from Sopore to Ladoora Rafiabad High Lift scheme (RHL), and shoal clearance at identified spots to check flood furies. Speaking at the meeting of the State Flood Control Board held at Institute of Engineers at Gandhi Nagar ,Jammu today Yawar Mir said that construction of a supplementary Flood Spill Channel to mitigate the flood threat in the valley has become all the more necessary adding that the authorities at the helm of affairs should manage flow of regular funds for this purpose.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
