Afresh ceasefire three civilians injured in Arnia, Pak targets 8 BoPS | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 29: At least three persons were injured today after Pakistan Rangers violated the ceasefire along International Border in Arnia sector of RS Pura in Jammu and Kashmir. The heavy firing from across the border from Pakistan attracted equal retaliation from BSF troops. BSF sources said that Pakistan Rangers resorted to unprovoked small arms and mortar shelling in Arnia and R S Pura sector. "The Pak Rangers started initial firing from small arms at around 2000hrs and later they gradually shifted to concentrated mortar shelling on BSF posts in Arnia sector." "As many as 08 BSF Posts are affected," the BSF sources said, adding, "as the firing continued for prolonged time leaving no option for the BSF to retaliating with befitting manner." They added that the fire is still continued. Meanwhile police sources the civilians have been injured in cross border firing in Arnia and later were referred to the Govt Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for medical treatment. " The injured have been identified namely as Poli Devi w/o Anant Ram, Darshan Lal s/o Baldev Raj and Vickey s/o Tersam Lal all are residents of W-3 Arnia," police sources said. Pertinent to mention that BSF troops along Jammu Frontier have foiled 07 infiltration attempts in this month only. Pakistan Rangers who provide cover fire to the infiltrates, probably got baffled due to no success in infiltration Pakistan Rangers are resorting to mortar shelling. |
