Uncertainty looms large over people's future: Hamid Choudhary | Escalation in border firing alarming | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 30: Seeking a decisive plan for people of border villages who have been moved far inside the International Border (IB) due to cross-border firing, People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Hamid Choudhary today said that a fear psychosis has gripped people and they are suffering a lot with uncertainty looming large over their future. There are still many families who are continuing to migrate from border villages of Arnia and R S Pura. People are not able to cultivate their fields, their livestock is not being looked after properly and most importantly career of students is at stake besides all other social engagements are getting hampered due to dislocation of families, he said. Choudhary Hamid said besides allotting plots to these people, a separate township with all facilities must be established for affected families so that they could carry on with their routines. Their normal life has been shattered and they cannot wait anymore for the last gun to fall silent. A plan for their permanent rehabilitation has t be carved out so that this uncertainty ends once for all. The fresh firing in R S Pura and Arnia areas have left several people injured. Already over 10,000 people have migrated from borders areas to safe zones and are trying to manage their normal life in difficulties. He asked the district administration to ensure that those families who have migrated from border villages are provided with all amenities and their livestock also provided with fodder in this winter season. |
