Government College of Education organizes debate competition 1/30/2015 11:03:08 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 30: The Literary committee of the Government College of Education organized intra-college debate competition on the topic "In the opinion of house-Internet is the only source of integrated knowledge for the youth of present era". Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu, Prof. R.D Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. Total of fourteen students expressed their views either in favor or against the notion. Prof. R.D Sharma was accompanied by Prof. J.K Sharma and they were received by NSS volunteers of the college led by their programme officer Prof. Ashu Jolly. In the contest Bhoomica stood first, whereas second and third positions were bagged by Preeti Chib and Priyanka Kaul. In his presidential address, Prof. R.D Sharma congratulated all the participants and dwelled in detail on the relevance of internet in the current circumstances besides vividly highlighting the need to apply caution in its usage by the young generation. Prof. Neelam Dhar, Prof. Anil Verma and Prof. Babu Lal Thakur acted as adjucators. Prof. Shashi Prabha, Head of Department of English presented the formal vote of thanks. Prof Jyoti Parihar , Prof. Maansi, Prof. Rupinder Kour , Prof. Tahira and Prof. Sunita Gupta and Prof. Anju Bala rendered full cooperation to the organizing team.
