reasi, Jan 30: Municipal Committee of Reasi in Collaboration with Sangarsh Samiti Reasi has launched cleanliness campaign in the municipal limits of Reasi town here today.
According to press release, the drive, which was launched in October, 2014 focuses on awareness and preventing littering, rather than just cleaning up after offenders, said Executive Officer (EO), Municipality Reasi Rattan Lal adding "If we can't educate the general masses about not littering, then the drive will have no meaning." EO Municipality also informed that NSS and NCC wings in educational institutions will also be roped in to inculcate good sanitation habits among students.
With that in mind, the cleanliness cum awareness drive on Friday launched by Assistant Director Planning (RDD)-Megha Bagoia and District Information Officer-Parvinder Kour from Ward Number 2 Nai Basti area of Reasi town and thereafter it will continue ward wise in upcoming days. Former Counselor Sheel Mangotra, Chairman "WE CARE" a NGO - Jugal Magotra, Principal and large number of students of Lawrence Public High School, Reasi volunteers of Sangarsh Samiti Reasi and a large number of local peoples also participated in the event . |
