Farmers stage protest demonstration 3/18/2015 11:06:02 PM Early Times Report Bishnah, Mar 18: Farmers hailing from Bishnah and Arnia Tehsils and adjoining localities held a massive protest demonstration outside Tehsil headquarters under the leadership of senior congress leader, MK Bhardwaj here today. According to press release, they were protesting against the apathy of the government and inordinate delay being caused by them in providing immediate relief on account of damaged caused to their crops due to unprecedented rains and hailstorm. The protestors passed through streets of Bishnah and raised slogans against the government and local administration. Addressing the farmers and local congressmen and leaders, Bhardwaj lambasted the government for its apathetic attitude towards the farmers who are under severe stress due to heavy losses suffered by them on account of vagaries of weather. He said that large number of farmers, medium and small, are finding themselves in a hopeless situation as due to loss of crops and fodder they are finding it hard to look after their families and cattle. Bhadwaj said it would have been better had the government acted swiftly to provide some much needed relief in terms of cash and food grains.
