MD SRTC 'derives pleasure' by frequently transferring class-IV employees | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 18: In an act of brazen violation of Jammu and Kashmir transfer policy the Managing Director of cash strife State Roads Transport Corporation (SRTC) has issued several transfer orders during the past one year, and is also allegedly harassing SRTC staff members, particularly the class IV employees, sources told Early Times. They said in a fresh act of transfer violation and brazen act of harassment, Managing Director SRTC Jeet Singh Tandon issued circular No. 225-MD of 2015 with endorsement No. JKSRTC/MD/PS/J/305 dated 9-03-2015 and directed 45 conductors of various districts of Jammu/Kashmir divisions to report to MPS Srinagar and MPS Jammu for their further duties. All these 45 employees were regularized and promoted in 2010. They have been asked to perform the duties as bus conductors on interstate routes which they never performed during their service of over 15 to 20 years. While talking to "Early Times", many victims of MD's transfer industry said, "Several employees were transferred by the MD over dozen times in past one or two years. Frequent transfer orders have made us mentally sick. Instead of strengthening transportation system within the state and at district level, MD is more interested in posting us on interstate routes." "Majority of us have monthly salary of Rs 13000 to Rs 15000. It is not possible for us to work on interstate routes. Despite huge local demand for SRTC service MD is wasting his energy in harassing us by issuing our frequent transfer orders," they added. The aggrieved victims of MD's transfer industry have also approached various quarters including ministers of BJP and PDP, demanding justice and action against the erring MD involved in frequent transfers of the poor employees. "We are performing our duties regularly and honestly. Let the government and transport minister take a call and order an inquiry into frequent transfers of employees by the MD SRTC so that truth behind these frequent transfers will come to fore" said an angry SRTC employee. Despite repeated attempts to transport minister could not be contacted. |
