Mandal, Nikki Tawi inhabitants protest over 'no road connectivity' | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 18: A large number of residents from Nikki Tawi and Mandal localities held a protest demonstration over no road connectivity to their villages and demanded immediate reconstruction of damaged bridge over river Tawi. The only bridge connecting the localities got washed in floods in September last year. They said that students of 45 villages too are facing hardships to reach their schools and colleges due to poor road connectivity to the area. Later, the Tehsildar Mandal and senior police officers rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors assuring them that they would soon take up the matter with the concerned quarters. After the assurance, the protestors lifted their dharna Prominent among present in the demonstration included Balbir Manhas, Balwant Singh, Vicky Sharma, Rohit and others. |
