Alleged backdoor appointments in LA SVO produces record 3/21/2015 12:17:28 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 20 : In a petition seeking quashing the decision of the Director Vigilance conveyed to this Court vide Status Report filed in Contempt Petition (OW) No 39/2014 whereby the SVO had illegally/arbitrarily closed the complaint of the petitioner dated 04-03-2014 seeking registration of FIR against respondent No 3 and 4 under Section 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act for making illegal/backdoor appointments against the newly sanctioned posts in the assembly secretariat and MLA Hostels of Jammu and Srinagar. The petitioner has sought direction to Director Vigilance to register an FIR against Mohammad Akbar Lone, former Speaker and Minister for Higher Education and Mohammad Ramzan, Secretary, J&K Legislative Assembly under Section 5(2) Prevention of Corruption Act Svt 2006 by constituting a Special Investigating Team (SIT) to be headed by an Officer not below the rank of SSP. When the matter came up for hearing AAG H A Sidduqi submitted that the VOJ record was available. Upon this Justice Bansi Lal Bhat directed AAG to keep the record available on next date of hearing for consideration.
