| Protest on issuance of RBA certificates to non residents held | | |

Basohli, May 27: Irate over the issuance of fake Rural Backward Area, RBA certificates and voters' lists, the inhabitants of Sanan Shat Basohli town, blocked Kathua- Basohli road and demanded their cancellation.
Addressing the protestors, Chetan Kumar, a youth said people had submitted a memorandum to DDC Kathua nearly four months ago and demanded to review such fake voter lists and RBA certificates which was deliberately issued by Booth Level Officers, BLOs. He said people never visit in this area but their names fall in voter lists. He said their children can't compete with the children of such people who live in Urban areas and send their children in costly schools. Rasal Singh, an elder said No action has been taken against such BLOs and people who have fake RBA certificate even problems have been raised to concerned authorities. He demanded serious action against such officers who issued fake certificate as beneficial must be resident of the Reserved area for not less than 15 years but certificates have been issued another day of purchasing land.
Shaminder Singh Jamwal, Tehsildhar Basohli, who rushed on the spot to review the ground situation, assured the public to do justice with them. He said in primary action against complaint administration has transferred BLO and reviewed the ground situation. Tehsildhar ensured to solve the matter within month and strict action will be taken against undeserving candidates.
He ordered to inspect files of all those candidates who are actually not belong to Rural Backward area and have names in voters' lists and enjoying RBA certificates.
