Noise Pollution case: DB directs Div Com to submit comprehensive report 5/28/2015 12:10:28 AM Jammu, May 27 : In a Public Interest Litigation filed by Vasu Dubey regarding violation of Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 read with various provisions of Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 seeking direction to implement guidelines issued by the Supreme Court in the case of Forum, a Division Bench of State High Court comprising Justice Hasnain Massodi and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal directed Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir to submit a comprehensive report well before next date of hearing and also directed counsel for the PIL to file response before matter comes up for consideration. When the PIL was taken up today, the Division Bench observed that the respondents were directed to submit a comprehensive status report indicating the steps taken towards implementation of statutory provisions to control noise pollution in the State. However, the report sufficient in all essential details is yet to be filed. After hearing Adv Rahil Raja appearing for the PIL whereas Sr. AAG SS Nanda appearing for the state directed Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir to collect necessary information from all the Tehsildars/Chief Executive Officers of different development authorities in the State regarding implementation of the aforementioned Provisions and the directions laid down by the Apex Court Judgment, tabulate such information and submit a comprehensive report well before the next date of hearing and also directed counsel for the PIL to file response before matter comes up for consideration.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
