Militants strike again, shoot mobile tower landlord in Pattan | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, May 27: After killing two persons associated with mobile companies in north Kashmir's Sopore area, militants struck again in Pattan, 25 kilometres from Sopore and shot at and a injured a civilian who has rented out his land to three mobile companies for installing their towers. Police said militants fired upon Imtiyaz Ahmad son of Ali Mohammad at Arim Mohalla, Pattan in north Kashmir this evening. "Imtiyaz has been shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment and his condition is table," a police officer told Early Times. Imtiyaz, he said, hosts three communication towers of Airtel, Idea and Vodafone which are erected in his land. This is the third incident in last three days when militants have targeted civilians associated with communication. Most of the communication towers have been closed in north Kashmir after attacks and most of the areas are without mobile network. |
