Burglars strike eminent trader's house, stole Jewellery, cash worth Crores | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 27: In a bizarre incident, the burglars broke into the house of an eminent businessman situated in the heart of the city of Jammu and decamped with jewellery and cash worth crores of rupees. Police have registered a case in this regard. Quoting complainant police sources said that the burglars decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 1.25 Cr from the house of the eminent business family M/s Chuni Lal and Amarnath Sons at 31 Partapgarh Mohalla in walled city. They said that the incident took place when family members had gone to visit one of their ailing family member, who was undergoing medical treatment after suffering a cardiac problem following the shocking death of their younger brother.' As per police sources, the family members Tuesday and reached at their residence in late hours. It was on Wednesday morning they noticed that their lockers were broke open and other items scattered here there while the cash and jewellery reportedly amounting to atleast Rs 1.25 Crores were found missing, a senior police officer said while quoting the complaint. He however regretted that though the family is among eminent business families of the city, yet they did not bother to install CCTV cameras in the premises. "Had it been there we might have got some vital clue to get a lead to crack the theft," he added. He further said that the family members had suspicion on some persons which police is taking as clue and is investigating the matter. "Meanwhile, a case in this connection has been registered and further investigations are, the officer maintained. |
