ADC chairs meeting with local cable operators 6/19/2015 10:13:10 PM Early Times Report Reasi, June 19: Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi-Shiv Kumar Gupta chaired a meeting with Local Cable Operators (LCOs) to discuss the steps taken by them for the operationalizing of third phase of Digital Addressable System (DAS). During the meeting Gupta briefed the cable operators about the directions of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and J&K Government regarding the transformation of existing cable service from analogue cable to DAS for which the revised deadline is fixed as December 31st 2015(third phase). Discussions were held on various issues, which include replacing of analog system by DAS, plan and strategy of LCOs regarding digitisation, submission of area wise data base by LCOs, problems faced by LCOs at ground level, to oversee and monitor the progress of the implementation of DAS in Phase III of the programme and others. Gupta assured LCO's that the administration will give them all necessary help for smooth digitization of cable services. He emphasised to give further momentum to the awareness campaign regarding DAS programme, adding that the first aim should be increasing awareness and empowering consumers to 'Switch To' DAS and second that consumers are informed about the wide array of options available to select the accurate package once they switch to DAS.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
