Rajendra's 'transfer policy' fails to take off | Controversial Inspector manages his posting back to Jammu range | | ET Report JAMMU, June 19: A controversial police Inspector, who was transferred to another police wing only an year back, has managed his transfer back to Jammu range, using his political connections. His premature shifting contradicts the police transfer policy framed by DGP K Rajendra which says that no officer would be transferred before he completes his three years of service at a particular place. The Inspector got himself transferred Thursday to Jammu range and on Friday, he was seen taking rounds of the offices and residences of senior police officers to get a posting in Jammu district. He was earlier SHO of a police station in the city periphery. After his transfer from there, he was not relieved for some time due to the support of his seniors. However, following a tiff with then SSP for not responding to his phone call, he was transferred to the CID wing of police. He had then proceeded on "protest" leave and not joined his service for some time. But within one year of his transfer, he is back to Jammu and is likely to be posted as SHO of some city police station. Other Inspectors, who were transferred with him, were still working in their respective wings and zones, according to police sources. Sources said a local politician had managed his transfer back to Jammu. Apart from him, two more Inspectors had managed their transfers back to Jammu range from police training academy (PTA), Udhampur. One of them was posted in Jammu before his posting in the PTA about two years back, while the other was posted in the traffic police. It may be mentioned here that Rajendra's transfer policy has failed to take off due to the political interference in police transfers. |
