03 bovine smugglers held, 11 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report jammu, June 19: As a part of drive to curb the menace of bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police today foiled bovines smuggling bid and arrested three bovine smugglers besides rescuing 11 bovines at Chingus of Rajouri District. "The three bovine smugglers have been identified namely as Mohd Shabir of Nadian, Showket Hussain of Rani Balater and Mohd Raiz of Rakiban, police spokesperson said. Police spokesman said," On specific information a police team from Chingus Police Post led by in-charge PP Chingus SI Fareed Ahmed under the supervision of SHO Rajouri Inspector Yash Paul raised a naka/checking at Chingus today." "The naka team intercepted the bovine smugglers proceeding journey on foot and carrying 11 animals from Rajouri to Srinagar via Thanamandi without requisite permission from district authorities, police said adding the above said trio was arrested on the spot while animals were rescued. A case In this connection, under FIRs No.323/2015 and 84/2015 u/s 188 of RPC and 3 PCA have been registered at Rajouri police station and investigation going on. Rajouri Police intensify drive against bovine smugglers and during this year (2015) till date police have registered 39 cases of bovine smuggling against 112 persons besides rescuing 264 bovine animals and seizure of 22 vehicles. |
