Jammu, June 24: Dr K Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), appreciated the efforts of the Central University of Jammu for the Starting Courses in emerging area of science like, Space Science, Earth Science and Nanotechnology, during advisory committee meet held here today. According to CUJ spokesman, a meeting was held here in which Dr K Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman, ISRO, Dr. N Kumar Jain, Member, American chemical society and former Director, Defence laboratory, Jodhpur, Prof. Alim H. Naqvi, Centre of excellence materials science, Aligarh Muslim University, Dr B R Singh, AMU, Prof. S K Shah ,Former Dean, Department of Geology, University of Jammu ,Prof P N Kotru, Department of Physics, University of Jammu, Prof Rajnikant, Department of physics, university of Jammu, Prof. SK Khosa, University of Jammu and Prof B L Kalsotra, Department of chemistry, university of Jammu. In his address, Dr K Radhakrishnan said that the major areas which demarcate from central university it should be Quality Research and publication, innovative teaching and Knowledge sharing a conventional university. He appreciated the efforts of the University for the Starting Courses in emerging area of science like, Space Science, Earth Science and Nanotechnology. Prof S K Shah emphasized on the integration of Science rather than the compartmentalization. The Vice Chancellor Prof. Ashok Aima gave a power point presentation about the progress of campus building works, academic programmes presently offered by the University and the future academic initiatives. The Vice Chancellor also added that six academic departments would be shifted to the campus. Earlier the Prof Lokesh Verma, Academic Coordinator welcomed the Chief Guest and All Expert who participated in this meeting. Prof Devanand, Prof R L Bhat. Dr Pavinder Singh, Dr Pankaj Mehta, Dr Bachha Babu, Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, H K Prasher and R P Gupta also attended the meeting |
