JAMMU, July 15: Khalsa Cricket Club today sailed into the semifinals of the ongoing Chevrolet Cup cricket tournament, sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and organised by KC Sports Club at KC Public School ground, here. In the first knock-out stages match, Khalsa Club defeated hosts KC Sports Club by seven wickets. Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, KCSC could make 92 runs in the given 20 overs. Pranav and Amrit Pal were main contributors to the total with 20 and 16 runs respectively. From Khalsa, Mannu and Arif bowled brilliant spells taking away three wickets each. Batting second, Khalsa chased the small total rather easily. Khalsa overhauled the KCSC total in just 12.3 overs that too losing only three wickets. Subhinder played fine innings of 25 runs while Harpreet Singh contributed highest 34 runs to the team's total. From KCSC, Arjun Choudhary took two wickets while Bablu bagged one.
