Kishtwar police reach out to youth to promote communal harmony

Kishtwar, July 15:Following reports that militants may try to rope in local youth in their ranks, Kishtwar police have prepared a comprehensive plan to reach out to them to guide them in a way that not only prevents them falling into the hands of anti-national elements but also help the police to promote communal harmony.
Police want to develop closer ties with these youth to stop them becoming a part of the drug culture that prevails in some parts of the district.
As per the details available with Early Times, after surfacing of Pakistani flag during cricket match followed by regular seizer of drugs like Charas and Heroines in Kishtwar, SP Kishtwar Yoghal Manhas deputed two senior officers Irshad Ahmed Ahanger Dy. SP operation and Touseef Ahmed Dy. SP HQ Kishtwar who since last four days are visiting various areas of Kishtwar town and its adjoining villages like Huller, Bandrina, Poohi, Pooch, Matta, Bhunzwar, Cherhar, Hidyal and other areas where both the officers are interacting with the youths and guide them along with their parents by delivering lecturers on the uses and abuses of drugs, rash and negligence driving, importance of communal harmony and importantly on ramification of involvements of youths in anti national and anti social activities. Both the officers seek cooperation of general public in maintaining peace and communal harmony in Kishtwar ahead of festival season including during upcoming Eid festival falling by the end of this week, checking of social evil and urged upon the parents to keep proper track of their children so as to prevent them falling trapped in the hands of anti national and anti social activities. The officers deputed by the District police also assured help to the parents in proper guiding of their children towards building their successful carrier in various fields of education. The police officers also exchange their mobile numbers with youths and advice them to remain in touch with them as and when they feel the need of their help.
The SP said that the aim and objective of reaching out to the youths of Kishtwar is to understand their problems and to find out the solution of the same, beside to find out an opportunity to teach the youths about the drug menace and to prevent the youths from falling trap to anti national and anti social elements. He said that after analyzing the various information gathered by the police department through various sources, it comes to fore that youths of Kishtwar District are falling prey to anti social and anti national elements at an alarming rate, added that Kishtwar police through this exercise tries to avail the opportunity to reach out maximum youths. He said that this exercise will remain continue in future added that all other senior officer including will reach out to the youths and their parents so that looming threat of anti social elements and anti national elements on youths could be negated on time through proper counseling. He said that prime target of Kishtwar police is to maintain peace and communal harmony added that peace cannot be compromised at any cost and said that the elements inimical to peace could be dealt with iron hands.
It is pertinent to mention that Kishtwar district not only remained highly militancy infested District in past, but also remained highly communally divided as successive communal clashed took place in the District in last nearly two decades including the latest one on 9-08-2013.
