JKBOSE deprives students from Right to Education | | | Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report
Jammu, July 23: After a recent case of alleged ignorance of the students by some teachers at GHSS Katra for mere refusing to seek tuition, this time the JKBOSE has not left any stone turned in depriving the Right to Education of the students guaranteed under Article 21 of Constitution of India . The astonishing functioning by Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) came into limelight as the JKBOSE deprived the 12th class students for re-appearing the last chance which was only available to them but was postponed due to flash floods in September 2014. Sources said that not only the students with backlog papers, but fresh 12th class private students also have appeared for Paper-A examinations in August 2014 only as the second round of papers( B) were postponed following devastating floods in the state. An Aggrieved student said that the JKBOSE through a notification, cancelled all Paper-B examinations scheduled to be held in September 2014 without notifying the next date of examinations. He added that, in the year 2015, JKBOSE first cancelled the date sheet twice and then issued a notification for the fresh as well as students with only chance left to appear in 12th class examination, to hold the left over Paper-B examinations in March-April 2015 that was cancelled due to floods depriving them from their fundamental right to sit in the examinations last time. An official of JKBOSE when contacted, again dictated the same lines, "A number of student delegations from across the state also discussed same problem with me and after deliberations with the Board officials, we are going to take a final call in this context shortly" and " It is expected that the decision will be in Students favour only", he added. |
