| Blue eyed continue to elbow out deserving in JU administration | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 23: It would not be perhaps wrong to say that the tradition of favouring blue eyed incompetent candidates in Jammu University against meritorious ones cannot be ceased, as VC- RD Sharma recently gifted JK Sharma and Sanjeev Mahajan plum postings.
According to recent official order, JK Sharma has been appointed as Director Colleges Development and Sanjeev Mahajan as Controller, despite knowing that the duo was rejected earlier due to their ineligibility, as they don't possess qualification and experience required for the respective posts.
At the time of Vice Chancellor Varun Sahni, a committee head by Prof Vachaspati Mangotra, then Dean Law declared the two as ineligible for the posts of Controller, Registrar and College Development Director (CDC).
Later, the matter was relooked by Prof Naresh Padha who also gave same opinion.
Meanwhile, under the patronage of Prof RD Sharma, both JK and Sanjeev are enjoying the coveted posts. Officers in the university told that for the recruitment of Director Colleges Development, a person is supposed to be a professor and have rich experience in teaching, hold higher degrees equivalent to MPhil and PhD. "How it is possible that a person who possessed a simple master's degree can convene meeting of persons with higher qualifications", said a source.
He further added that he has been given one after one prize postings ignoring the capable ones. If sources are to be believed, to take hold on the Varsity's administration he has been additional charge of legal cell of JU.
Despite the fact that JK Sharma and Sanjeev Mahajan also dragged the varsity into court while JK Sharma was also penalized by the State Information Commission (SIC), he has been given privilege postings owing to the reasons best known to the Jammu University administration. Sources also revealed that Raj bhavan was also not happy with the appointment of Keshav Sharma as Registrar Jammu University as he had allegedly played anti administration role in 2008 and later he was not given any prime posting following which he took leave from Jammu University and accepted headship of a private university in Chandigarh. |
