Dy CM to lead MLA panel to bring AIIMS | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 23: A panel to be formed under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh would soon be leaving for Delhi to discuss the necessities on the modalities of bringing AIIMS to Jammu. A senior BJP MLA wishing anonymity has said that deputy chief minister will soon convene a meeting of MLAs and form a group that would meet the party high command in Delhi laying pressure on the centre for the sensitivity of issue on AIIMS required for Jammu. "We are fighting for the cause of the people of Jammu and we will fight it out till the end until we do not bring the prestigious institution to Jammu region," said the MLA adding that the heavy mandate given to the party in shape of 25 MLAs is a honour bestowed upon the party and party needs to reciprocate the same feelings of the people by bringing AIIMS to Jammu. Meanwhile Jammu people, who have lost the faith on BJP term it as compulsion out of fear that has pushed the party to wall that has started seeing its nadir as the unfolding of events in Jammu after BJP took to political reins in Jammu had been unfavorable both to the party and the people also, "They are held at crossroads now. Bringing AIIMS to Jammu now have become their compulsion or the people of Jammu would dismiss BJP as the assembly of buffoons who are into the power only minting money or act second fiddle to its coalition partner PDP," said Vijay Manhas, a government engineer. Even the BJP leaders are of full venom against their own political high-ups like Jammu and Kashmir Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna and particularly its new find in Ram Madhav, national organizing secretary of the party entrusted with J&K affairs during elections and government formation in state whom they dub as murderers of aspiration of the people of Jammu. "Was Ram Madhav making merry in Kashmir when the agenda of alliance was being put in place wherein AIIMS for Kashmir was incorporated. Does he have no vision to understand the aspirations of the people of Jammu who had honored the party with heavy mandate," said one of the senior BJP leader. However, the present notion that has buoyed up high among the people is the hope that they have pinned on the AIIMS Coordination Committee with a strong feeling that only after the ACC came into being as a pressure group from Jammu that BJP rank and file was run by a fear psychosis. "Its not through BJP that AIIMS would see the light of day in Jammu, but the concerted and undeterred effort by the AIIMS coordination Committee that came up as a pressure group whose awareness call on necessity of AIIMS reached far nook and corner and brought BJP to its knees," said Ankit Salotra, a Jammu University student from Bishnah, adding that still the relatives and kins of victims of Amarnath land row of 2008 have not been compensated, while the BJP has earned the seat of power. "Ask Shilpi Verma, the widow of martyr Kuldeep Verma if she is satisfied with the treatment meted out to her by the party over seven years of the martyrdom of her husband," mocked Ankit. |
