HC asks govt to specify terms and conditions | Appointment of fee panel head | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 23: The state High Court today directed government to specify terms and conditions regarding the appointment of Justice (Rtd) Hakim Imtiyaz Hussain as chairman of a committee on fee structure for private schools in Jammu and kashmir. Hearing a contempt petition, a division bench of the court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Hasnain Massodi took exception to the government order which had stated that terms and condition of the engagement of the justice Imtiyat Hussain as head of the panel will be notified separately. "We cannot give our seal of approval as terms and conditions of his appointment have not been stated," the division bench said after hearing Additional Advocate General S A Naik. "You have to show that the his lordship has given written consent for heading the panel as well as you should disclose terms and conditions of his engagement," the court added. On June1, the division bench had directed the government to nominate a former judge of the J&K high court as chairman of the committee set up in 2013 to fix fee structure of private schools in the state. |
