LMD Reasi realizes fine from erring traders 7/23/2015 11:43:21 PM Early Times Report rEASI, July 23: A team of Legal Metrology Department Reasi under the supervision of the Assistt Controller Legal Metrology Reasi Rajesh Heera conducted extensive checking of various business establishment especially provisional stores, karyana stores, sweet shop and veg and fruit sellers on Katra-Panthal road. During the inspection Inspector Sumit Bhardwaj booked two traders for violation of various provisions of J&K Weights and Measures Act and Packages Commodities Rules. On pleading guilty, the cases were compounded on spot for Rs.11000/- by the Assistt Controller Legal Metrology Reasi with the assurance that the offences will not be repeated in future, failing which their cases will be sent to the court of law for stringent action. Besides this, deptt directed all the traders to use only verified weights and measures for business transaction and ensure that all the package commodities sold to the consumers must bear the MRP, PKD, net content, complete address and consumer care number. The department also warned the unscrupulous traders to desist from using unfair trade practices to cheat the innocent consumers and also appealed to the consumers to remain vigilant while purchasing the commodities   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
