Sleuths of Forest Deptt recovers 110 timber scants during raids 7/29/2015 11:24:19 PM Early Times Report Bhaderwah, July 29: Continuing its tirade against timber smuggling in whole Bhaderwah the sleuths of forest department Bhaderwah Forest division and Forest Protection Force (FPF) seized large quantity of illicit Deodar timber of different dimensions during nocturnal raids and recovered 110 scants hidden by the timber mafia in nearby fields and other places. The team comprising M S Jamwal RO Neeru, Haroon Khan I/C Forest Control Room Bhaderwah Forest Div, Ab Majid Inspector FPF Bhaderwah and other field staff launched massive search operation near Qilla Mohala, Bhaderwah. "The search operations were carried till midnight and 110 scants/pieces of Deodar timber of different sizes were seized and brought in forest complex Bhaderwah, official spokesperson said, further adding, "the whole operation was supervised by T B Singh, (IFS) DFO Bhaderwah." Reports said some people tried to resist the seizure but were over powered by the strong contingent of FPF and forest sleuths. It is worthwhile to mention here that till now more than 3000 CFT of Deodar/Kail timber has been seized by the forest staff in last few months in Bhaderwah. Besides more than 400 kanals of encroached forest land has also been retrieved in Bhaderwah Forest Division during same period.
