Marwah people rue absenteeism culture in Govt offices | Many Govt offices at Marwah function from Kishtwar town | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report
Kishtwar, July 29: The people of unconnected village Hynan of Marwah Sub Division of Kishtwar District today approach the police station Nawapachi Marwah and submitted a resolution alleging that only one teacher was attending his duties at Middle School Hynan while all other teachers were absent from duties since long. As per the people, despite repeated request made to the administration and the government, nothing was done to ensure the attendance of employees in the area. They also demanded immediate posting of staff in the school and threatened that in case administration fail to ensure attendance in government offices, they will launch an agitation against menace of absenteeism culture in Marwah. The villagers also complaint about the drinking water problem in their village. Later on the request of villagers, Police Marwah send a wireless communication to DC Kishtwar, SP Kishtwar and other senior officers to intimate them about the public concern. It is pertinent to mention that many areas of Marwah Sub Division of Kishtwar District are without road, electricity and communication as a result of which the absenteeism culture in the area goes unnoticed. The government even though created a special post of Area Development Officer for Marwah some six year ago and later give the status of Sub Division to Marwah last year, but neither Area Development Officer or SDM attended its office at Marwah and instead prefer to stationed at Kishtwar which is more then 120 KM from Marwah, official sources alleged. In addition many government offices designated for Marwah Sub Division are functional at District Headquarter and are functioning under the nose of District administration with the alleged backing of political masters. The people of Marwah Sub Division from time to time though raise the demand of shifting of all the government offices functioning at Kishtwar to Marwah, but nothing was done till date by successive government and it now to been seen whether the present government headed by Mufti Syeed will ensure the shifting of these offices to Marwah or like previous governments, the present government will too turn blind eye towards this issue of public importance. |
