Now, JU messes up address 7/30/2015 12:13:48 AM K Koushal Early Times Report Jammu, July 29: In a highly provocative move, University of Jammu has changed its address of the campus from B R Ambedkar Road to Gujjar Basti Jammu on its official website. Sources told Early Times the official gazzette of the university carries address as Gujjar Basti instead of its actual address B R Ambedkar Road, which had been university's address since its inception. "University's move tantamounts to disrespect to the Bharat Rattan Dr Ambedkar, who holds special place in hearts of crores of Indians," sources said. insiders within Jammu University said, "This unison move seems to be aimed at appeasing a particular political class and to promote some vested interests who are out to monopolize the higher education system of the Jammu region." Meanwhile official in University, said that the university authorities cannot change the 'name and style' of University or even fiddle with the address without the consent of the Governor who is the Chancellor of the University. Sources said, "Not a single order or circular was issued by the competent authority before changing the address of the varsity."
