Terminated Bashir is Tehsildar Jammu on RDSLR website | | | K Koushal
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 29: E-governance seems a distant dream in this neglected state. The website of the Regional Director Survey and Land Records is till date showing Bashir Ahmed as the Tehsildar of Jammu notwithstanding the fact that he was terminated last month for corruption. Regional Director Survey & Land Records (ex-officio Settlement Officer) Jammu Rajesh Kumar Shavan, KAS, was transferred last year from the said post but he obtained stay order from the High Court Jammu against his transfer order and was continuing at the same post by virtue of the stay order. The website contains his message with smartly put picture in which Shavan is thanking Saleem Khan Technical Director NIC J&K and his team along with Sanjay Gupta, KAS, Assistant Settlement Officer Jammu for compiling inventory of the record through which people by using internet can find out the availability of the record. However, that poor and outdated website record questions the tall claims of Regional Director Survey & Land Records. The problem with the updation of the website has left several Right to Information (RTI) activists and other concerned in dilemma about whom to contact about their grievances. Pertinently funds in Crores are being diverted every year from ADB, World Bank, Central Government as well as State Government for the smooth functioning of these important Departments but the officials at the helm of affairs have gone lethargic to utilize the same amount effectively. |
