BJP Ministers, leaders target officials, businessmen | Anarchy | | 'Fall in line or face the music' Fazal Khan Early Times Report SRINAGAR, July 29: The BJP ministers and the party leaders are out to establish their writ. To begin with they have issued strict instructions to officials from top to bottom that nothing would move without their consent, while on other hands the BJP leaders who are not a part of the government have ostensibly asked their ministers to make the lives of those "businessmen difficult" who have failed to fall in the line. Sources old Early Times that a few ministers have become proactive and have directed the officials not to take any decisions independently. "It's not only the BJP ministers who are interfering in the official affairs, there are many BJP leaders who too are poking their nose in the administrative matters,' sources said. They said many BJP leaders who have got nothing to do with the official affairs frequently visit the Civil Secretariat and sit with the ministers and issue orders. "The interference of the BJP ministers and leaders has created confusion in the bureaucratic circles as they are finding it hard to handle the multiple bosses," sources added. "Many BJP leaders are trying to prevail upon the ministers to act against the businessmen who have not obliged the party by giving donations for the party funds. It's really unfortunate that a few men within the ruling BJP want to settle their personal scores with the people who have failed to fall in the line," sources added. An insider claimed that after the PDP-BJP coalition took over the reins of the state the BJP leaders asked the top businessmen to appear in their "Darbar" to hold negotiations if they want o carry on with their businesses smoothly. "In Kashmir where BJP couldn't even manage to win a single seat the businessmen who were summoned by the party leadership paid no heed towards the diktats of the BJP leaders and avoided them leaving these leaders red faced," sources added. "Now these leaders are asking their ministers to tighten their noose around the people who have not followed their diktat," they added. Insiders revealed apart from targeting the "rebel businessmen" the BJP ministers and leaders have taken a strong exception to a few officials not following their diktats. "We have to run the government in our own way we cannot allow anyone to take us for granted. Officials have to fall in line and follow the directions," a BJP leader said. He said that officers whether in Jammu or Kashmir have to follow the directions if they want to be in the job. "We are not giving any dictations we are just implementing our agenda," the leader added. Sources said the BJP leaders in order to establish their writ are crossing their breach. "It seems these people (BJP leaders) have forgotten the basic rule that no government can function if its tools refuse to cooperate. All the officials from top to bottom are the tools of any government and if the people at the helm keep on annoying them it can have far reaching consequences," they added. |
