2 BMOs spoil the broth at Banihal hospital | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
BANIHAL, July 29: The emergency hospital Banihal situated on Jammu Srinagar highway has become a victim of mis- management as important posts are lying vacant for four years. The emergency hospital had two block medical officers. The ex -BMO, AH Bahru managed a stay on his transfer and returned back as BMO Banihal. He was attached by the concerned authorities at Director health services Jammu and a new Block medical officer (BMO) was posted after public demanded Bahru's transfer. Today the civil society of Banihal submitted a memorandum before the SDM Banihal Faraq Qazi and threatened strike against his reposting in Banihal hospital. In the memorandum said that the said BMO has made the hospital a referral center and having a diploma in Gynea wants to act as a gynaecologist. The civil society further said that the BMO AH Bahru is not allowing the newly appointed Block medical officer to work in the hospital. The important posts of doctors i: e gynaecologist, ortho, radiologist, 3 Assistant surgeons are vacant from past so many years. The civil society today threatned agitation if AH Bahru was not transferred and the vacant posts filled immediately. It is pertinent to mention that this hospital feeds near about two lakh population of Banihal and situated on a tough stretch of Jammu Srinagar national highway the maximum accidents patients are removed to this hospital. |
