Man, wife blame each other for son's suspicious death | | | Early Times Report rajouri, July 29: A man and his wife have been holding each other responsible for the suspicious death of their 7-month-old son at their residence at Gakhrot in Koteranka area of Rajouri yesterday. Phoolan Begum has alleged that her husband Mohammad Arif, a driver by profession, had killed their baby as he suspected that he was not his son. He killed the baby because he suspected that he was born due to her illicit relations with some unknown person, according to police sources. Arif's father Mohammad Amin has blamed Phoolan for the boy's death, saying she had strained relations with her husband. Phoolan, in her statement to police, said that the boy was on the bed in her room and she was busy in work outside the house. When she returned to the room after about an hour, the boy was no more, she claimed. The family members came to know about the incident when they rushed to the room after hearing her cries. "Police have started investigation in the suspicious death of the boy. Post-mortem was conducted today and the exact reason behind the death would be known only after the post-mortem report is made available to police," said Mohammad Younus, SHO of Kotranka police station. |
