Farooq pitches for mental care of children in schools | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jul 30 : The former J&K chief minister and National Conference (NC) patron Dr Farooq Abdullah while pitching for better mental care of children at schools said that effective measures need to be taken to ensure that the new generation in the state doesn't become the victim of anxiety and stress. J&K Rural Development Society, a Non Governmental Organisation organised Annual Parents Day at Auditorium Hall Govt. Dental College, Srinagar. Abdullah on the occasion was the Chief Guest. In his address to the audience he said that nation needs the mental development towards better care of old people in every field including medical care. The NC patron stressed upon the better moral education of the children in schools. He praised the efforts of J&K Rural Development Society towards the welfare of weaker section of society. Speaking on the occasion Chairman of the NGO and former Speaker Mubarak Gul stressed for the good morale and hard efforts to reconstruct the character of taking care of parents. Gul announced adoption of 100 orphan children throughout the state at first instance individually by the permanent members of J&K Rural Development Society. He also announced the adoption of one such orphan himself and will look after all his matters including education etc. 28 schools participated in debate on the crucial topic "Save the daughter to save the future generation". Prizes were distributed among the winners together with other participant students. During the award session Annual Madr-e- Meharban Awards were given to prominent persons including Zafar Ahmed Vakil, a leading and successful businessman Roma Wani, Secretary Indian Red Cross Society, Javed Ahmed Tak, a handicapped hard worker for their public service and effortful achievements. |
