Jammu, July 30: Contrary to his claims to improves education system and declining results in government school, Minister for Education, himself become hurdle, as the incumbent, has withheld list of promotion of 50 senior lecturers as Principal. Moreover, these promotes were to be appointed new principals in different schools in Kashmir Valley and Ladakh region, areas which fall under winter zone.
Sources in Education Department told Early Times contrary to his claims, streamline derailed education system government, he himself, is not releasing promotion and transfers orders.
"38 out of 50 promotees Principals belong Jammu division, and will be transferred and appointed in valley. Since, all schools in Kashmir valley and Ladakh region fall under winter zone, where examination are held in month of October, how principal can bring good results, if he or she appointed as head of institution just two months before the examination", said an promotee principal, wishing not be named.
He further said it was expected from the current regime that education system might be strengthen, but, unfortunately nothing has been done so far in this direction. Terming, Director School of Education Jammu an adamant bureaucrat, the sources said, without involving academics in decision making body, how system could be strengthen. Sources further said that the Minister has interviewed, each of promotee principal and have sought their suggestion.
"Interviews were held on, July 6, 2015 in civil secretariat at summer capital, various issues regarding betterment of education system in government schools, being academician we put our suggestions before the minister, but lapse of more than three weeks, suggestions are not being materialized", he said, alleging that since there were 38 promotees from Jammu division, the delay in release of lists of promotion and transfers, reflecting biasedness of Minister towards Jammuites.
