Don't confront JKPCC chief: Azad to loyalists | Ceasefire | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 30: Sensing trouble following suspension of former Ministers Gulchain Singh Charak, Prem Sagar Aziz and Abdul Gani Vakil, Ghulam Nabi Azad is learnt to have issued an advisory to his loyalists in State Congress not to confront with the PCC president G A Mir for the time being. A proposed reshuffle at top level in All India Congress Committee and its subsequent affect on the equations in State unit of the party, is stated to be main reason behind the advisory even as suspended leader Gulchain Singh Charak and Abdul Gani Vakil have announced to further intensify their campaign against Mir. According to the sources in Congress circles, the Third Front of dissidents- majority of whom belong to Azad camp, has decided to observe a ceasefire with the PCC president till the proposed reshuffle at top level , in which the national general secretary and incharge J&K affairs Ambika Soni is likely to be sidelined. The proposed reshuffle is likely to be affected after ongoing Autumn session of the Parliament and there are indications that someone else of Ghulam Nabi Azad's choice may be given the charge of J&K affairs replacing Ambika Soni, sources said. Further, sources added, the suspension of three former ministers and senior leaders for their alleged anti-party activities has served as a warning to other dissidents in Third Front that a similar action may also be taken against them. Keeping in view of the situation, sources said that Ghulam Nabi Azad issued an advisory to his loyalists to temporarily suspend their dissident activities against PCC chief and keep a distance from those who dare to continue with the rebellion, like Charak and Gani Vakil. Meanwhile, sources informed that suspension of Prem Sagar Aziz is likely to be revoked as he has tendered an unconditional apology to the party high command and distanced himself from any sort of anti-party activity in past as well as in future. However, on the other hand, both Charak and Gani Vakil have refused to budge and announced to hold a joint rally against PCC president onAugust 2. |
